What is Builder’s Gap? This is a gap between the fascia board (where the gutter is hung) and roof decking. This gap is caused when roof decking is stopped too short and is not flush with the fascia. The gap is meant to help with airflow throughout the attic. However, this gap is the perfect place for pests and unwanted wildlife to enter your home. Because the roof shingles only cover the gap, squirrels and other pests can wriggle under the shingles and slip right inside!
How do I prevent this? There is really no way to prevent this. To close the gap and keep pests out, we will come and put a galvanized drip edge to seal it.
How do I get rid of squirrels and other rodents for good? Have our wildlife experts come out and conduct a full exclusion of the pests. This means we will identify all current and potential points of entry. Once that is done, we will replace all insulation soiled by said pests. With the attic back
to new, we will install drip edges and close any holes so that squirrels and any other pest will not have a place to enter your home.
So, have a builder’s gap? No problem! We can handle all of that for you.
